My reflection:

CHIHARU SHIOTA's work is very engaging and striking. She explores the relationship between waking life and memory through hauntingly beautiful installations that incorporate a variety of everyday objects such as the keys and hospital bed in these two works. Intricate lines connect and wrap around each object in the space, creating various facets and three-dimensional spaces. In work RAIN OF MEMORIES the lines seem to represent the intricacies of memories that are difficult to untangle even with a key. In BUTTERFLY DREAM, the lines emanate from the hospital bed and spread across the ceiling like a floating dream, contrasting with the bed that traps the person.

Her use of thread provides me with some inspiration.
