The whole image represents my bound and repressed personality. If I showed some of my personality, I would be criticised, so I would never show it again.
Those translucent, irregular red shapes, obtained by painting with transparent nails and then drying, represent personalities that do not conform to the traditional rules.
I used watercolour to paint some chains symbolising control and the shape of a breast symbolising motherhood as a background.
The paper is then tied up with thread and the red shapes are glued inside a net made of thread, which represents bondage and control.
I originally made those red shapes to express light and shadow that can only be shown in dark lights, to express emotions that people with dismissive avoidant attachment cannot show in front of people during the day. But I wasn't terribly satisfied with the effect, so I left these things idle until I continued to do this visual experiment, which I found to work well with this bundled concept.
