The Unification of the Characters in the Qin Dynasty
In ancient China, the six states were unified into the Qin Dynasty. The characters of the six states varied in form. Qin Shihuang unified the characters so that they could be better recognized and used.
The practice of unifying the writing system has been continued up to now, which will make the writing system better preserved and used and at the same time contribute to the unity of a nation and a country.
The original Shui characters are handwritten. Just like the characters of the early qin Dynasty, there are many variants of the same text in Shui characters. Characters are difficult to recognize, so a unification is needed.
Design process:
I extracted the form of Shui characters from the ancient books and unified them.
I chose the Shui characters of Heavenly Stems and Earthly Branches which representing the calendar and some other characters for the design. There are the corresponding Chinese characters, pinyin and their meaning.
